Sawaike (suh-WHY-kee; IPA: [səˈwaɪkiː]; Achika: Sawaike [saˈwaike]; lit. 'homeland'), officially the Dominion of Sawaike, is an island country in Polynesia, the country consists of 13 islands, with Sawaike Nue ta Ka'oa being the largest of all, containing the majority of the country's population and serving as the cultural, linguistic, and political centre of the country.
Name
The name Sawaike loosely translates to 'homeland', sharing a common origin with Savai'i in Samoa, and Hawai'i itself.
Geography
Sawaike is made up of 13 islands, with 3 main islands and 10 other smaller islets and atolls.
The three main islands are:
- Sawaike ta 'Uike Nue (lit. the Biggest Son Sawaike)
- Sawaike ta 'Āwanga (lit. 'the Husband Sawaike')
- Sawaike ta Punaroa (lit. 'the Wife Sawaike')
